I hope i'm not having a brain fart on this one, but where may I change the text that is displayed in the title bar (if it is possible)? That is, the title bar of the window.

Thanks

For the homepage title, look in the Admin area, under Edit Server Settings for Message Board Name. When viewing topic titles, the page title will change to show the topic title.

Advanced: If you want to customize it further, search for $context['page_title'] in the Sources folder for the page you want to customize. (For topic pages, open Sources\Display.php and modify line 207, $context['page_title'] = $topicinfo['subject'];)

Thanks CSpotkill. That did the trick. I knew it was there someplace.

Louis could you elaborate a little more on the advanced method? My forum name is Forums3D.com, obviously I can't expand that as that is also the name used in other places like the link tree and on member e-mails etc.

Currently I think it works like this:
Index: [forum name]
Inside a board: [board name]
Inside a post: [post subject]

So what would I change sources to have it look something more like this:
Index: [forum name] "-" [forum tag line]
Inside a board: [board name] "at" [forum name]
Inside a post: [post subject]

Thanks...

For the homepage, you'd could open up Sources\BoardIndex.php and look for the $context['page_title']. In this file, it looks like this:

$context['page_title'] = $txt[18];

If we open up Themes\Default\Languages\index.english.php, we can find what $txt[18] actually is:

$txt[18] = $context['forum_name'] . ' - Index';

So, you can either edit the language file for all the different themes, or ignore it and hard code the string in the BoardIndex file:

$context['page_title'] = $context['forum_name'] . ' - Forum tagline goes here';

Then for the board title, open up Sources\MessageIndex.php and search for $context['page_title'] like before. This time, we'll replace it with:

$context['page_title'] = $board_info['name'] . ' at ' . $context['forum_name'];

Make sense? :)
