Shared database forums, will these still work in 2.0?

I run two forums and they share a database to share users, PMs, permissions, etc (a la http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=16190.0;topicseen).  Has anyone tried to upgrade 1.1.8 to 2.0 with a shared database?  I'm trying to figure out if this is still going to work.

I was wondering if that would work on 1.1.8 but it seems like I was talking to nobody

Works fine on my 1.1.8 installs.

In theory that upgrade should only effect the tables for that particular forum. It should leave the other DB tables untouched since they all have a different prefix.
