Everyone who tries to logout gets this error since upgrading from beta4

Session verification failed. Please try logging out and back in again, and then try again.

Doesnt do any good to try and logout as you cant. I tried  clearing cookies  and the cach with no results

Is there anything I can do about this. Can I revert to beta4 or try the files from  one of the bigger packages rather than the small package upgrade.

Run phpinfo() and drop us a link :)
See: What is phpinfo.php?

Okay, I needed that to check the session.cookie_path set on the server, it's set to "/" (root) which should be fine provided the forum runs under that directory.
A possible reason in my opinion: "/" (session.cookie_path) is not writable.
Have your host look into this :)

I used beta 4 for months with no problem this started after I upgraded to rc1 on sunday

Perhaps, a roll back may be a viable option at the moment?

Might be but these are Kentucky basketball fans and they will probably lynch me if I roll back before a new coach is hired and they loose their posts.

If they clear their cookies, they're automatically logged out, when they login again, is it the same case? Please, provide a test account.

Was they need to create another account?

Unto your query, I've posted something to the team boards, so someone else would look into this shortly.

Thank you. I have several other problems since the upgrade but this was the critical one.

hibillT

Ok I replaced the update files with the upgrade files and now at least when people including myself and the mods close a browser when they come back to the site they have to log back in. I didnt upload or run upgrade.php since I didnt know if it would create problems for the site

hibillT

I uploaded the full install package and all my problems are fixed. Dont know what caused it other than updating from beta4 to rc1 but so far every thing seems to be working good. Gonna mark this as solved.
