Login error message

Whenever I login to my forum from admin or any other account I get this error message "You were unable to login. Please check your cookie settings. " But on the same page if I click on home link then I see that I am logged in.

What am I doing wrong? Please help.

Have you tried emptying your cache/cookies?

A different browser?

Yes I have tried clearing the cache and cookies. Also on different machines, but still after sometimes it gives me same error message.

Which version of SMF?

Have you added any mods?

Have you added any mods, just before this started happening?

Is this happening if you use the SMF defaul, core theme?

I guess i installed Pretty URL mod and since then it is happening.

I was hoping you weren't going to say that. Pretty URLs seems to cause a lot of hassles, for some reason.

If I were you, I'd post in that mod's thread and see if anyone, there, can help you out.

Did you check that your server supports .htaccess per-directory config files and mod_rewrite?

I have a similar problem. I just installed "Ajax Chat". When I log into to forum with IE it gives me the cookie error, but in firefox it is okay. What is th issue?

Yes my server support the .htacces file for folder. I can see lot of .htaccess file in various folder. And what is mod_rewrite?

You'd need to check with your host.
