ipb db back up help

how do i acctually go about this.

what i have is a db backup from myold ipb forum.

how do i import the db into a fresh smf install can some 1 tell me a step bye step guide how to do this.

or do i install ipb again import db then run the converter.

or could some 1 convert the ipb db for me i can attach it here ty.

okay seems no 1 knows or is unwilling to help.

i have the datbase back up how to convert the databse into smf surely some 1 must no ?  i only have the db back up i do not have anyother ipb files at all is there a way to do this still or not .

I would suggest doing a search first, and then remember it is Easter! and all the staff are volunteers.
Also it wouldn't hurt to do a bit of research yourself, search this board for answers to your questions.
It ain't rocket science.

i did do a search POWERBOB
and all i fouind 1 post n using a db only which wasnt very clear !! and to noobs it is rocket science !!

bearing in mind im a complete noob with smf.

can some 1 tell me in simple terms what files i need in same directory as smf what edits i need to do and to what files. for this to work.

emulate and other words used here are just confusing me more.

im desperate now trhxs.

This is all explained in the documentation contained with the converter. NO CHANGES ARE MADE TO YOUR IPB db OR EDITS TO SMF FILES!
