Converting YaBB to SMF already in use

I didn't know there are converters for SMF and I've been using it for a quite some time. Is it possible to convert YaBB to SMF without losing the original posts already made. Is there any risks about messing the databases?

You can convert, but you will need to use a different database prefix than your current SMF board or you will lose the posts, and you won't be able to merge posts. Sorry.

Actually, the YaBB converter does support merging in (not emptying the target forum.)  However, this is still not recommended.
