Hm, I really have NO idea why this error happens when installing the theme via the admin panel. As far as I can see, you didn't anything wrong.

I believe that it may be a packaging error, but I don't know where. The .xml is there and all the files are in the archive, also, the directory structure seems to be ok.

Maybe, someone with more experience regarding themes could take a look and find that bug :)

How high do you have your zipping settings?  SMF can only handle "regularly" compressed zip files - that means anything WinZip 6.0 can handle, really.  The new compression schemes some clients have added (particularly, WinZip 9.0, if I remember right...) are not supported.

Try lowering the compression method a notch.

I was using this one:

Copyright (C) 1990-1999 Info-ZIP
Type 'zip "-L"' for software license.
Zip 2.3 (November 29th 1999). Usage:

directly on my bsd box. It doesn't even have options for high compression, but it's pretty old, so maybe there are incompatibilities.

Would it be better to use .tar or just store the files w/o compression?

The download would be huge :P.  And, .tar.gz should be fine if you prefer.

I think, I've found the cause why the theme didn't install properly. It was indeed a packer problem - the .zip utility I was using didn't handle some of the longer filenames properly.

I've repackaged it using tar and installed it on a fresh board and everything was fine.

Note: If you have the theme already running, you don't need to re-download and/or install it. It's only repackaged, no files were changed inside.

No, I saw the link, I just thought that Nightwish was going to make an update with DHTML menus and stuff.

Oh, excuse me.  I thought that this theme wasn't officially released yet.  I've just uploaded.  I am LOVING the DHTML menus :)!  Definitely a new default theme for OIF :).

Of course, thank you. It's now easier to find, I guess :)

So did the updated build install without problems in the admin panel?

There's something you forgot to fix when coding this theme.  When clicking on the topic with the most recent reply (under the "Last Post" column), the link is something like http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=31337.new#new when it should really be something like http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=31337.new;boardseen#new .  It's missing the "boardseen" command.  So now everytime I return to the homepage, it gives me topics to which I supposedly have not read yet.

Yes, you're right. It was actually missing in MessageIndex aswell (for child boards).

Hi there,

I was looking around the theme and found that the search drop down has a like to advanced search.. well it first takes you to the simple search b4 yah can go to the advanced.. so i fixed it to go to the Advanced

Here's how... go to your "Current Theme's Settings" and click the link "Modify the index template. (the main template)" and you'll see it in the first function.
Look for         <tr><td class="dmenu_cell" align="left"><a class="dmenu_link" href="', $scripturl, '?action=search"><img class="midimage" src="' . $settings['images_url'] . '/dmenu/search.gif" alt="search" border="0" />&nbsp;',$txt['a03'],'</a></td></tr>';and change it to this        <tr><td class="dmenu_cell" align="left"><a class="dmenu_link" href="', $scripturl, '?action=search; advanced"><img class="midimage" src="' . $settings['images_url'] . '/dmenu/search.gif" alt="search" border="0" />&nbsp;',$txt['a03'],'</a></td></tr>';it's actually a simple fix, you only have to add "; advanced" in the right place  :-[

Now i just have to figure out how to add the "Users Online Today"? lol

Cheers..  8)

Very easy. The theme has support for the "users online today" mode built in. It's just disabled by default.

Edit index.template.php and find (near beginning of the file, in template_init() function).
$settings['mod_online_today_installed'] = false;

Set it to true. That's all.

About that search thing - you're right. I didn't notice it, because I've disabled simple search on my board. So an action=search goes to the advanced page aswell.
