Hey all,

I ould look to know how I can use the original database from my forum at another server so that I am up to date and have the same boards and so on.

Here is an example:
the real board is at http:/domp.nl/smf
the testboard is at http://testforum.nl/smf [nofollow]

So the main question is what do I write in the field "Localhost" ...

Thanks in advance, Dirk

MySQL is usually installed on the same server as PHP, so you probably can't. Most hosts don't allow access to MySQL from other locations (ie from anything that isn't on that server).

Of course you can!  In the field, you would have to put "domp.nl".  The catch is simple...

You also have to tell domp.nl to allow connections from you.  If you have a dynamic IP, this might be a problem.  Your host may be able to help you with this.
