I'm making a custom set of buttons for YaBB SE... I'm not using the <yabb menu> in the template just simple linking say the Search button to:

.... the only button i'm having trouble getting to work is the profile button:
"http://www.blackberrystudios.co.uk/forum/index.php?board=;action=profile;user=Ironside82" <----- The user name bit will need to change for each user... how can i get that to work??

Is there a way to edit yabb menu to extract just the profile button or is there another way?

You can see what i'm sort of trying to achieve here:

Thanks for your help

Do you want the link to the profile edit screen:
http://www.blackberrystudios.co.uk/forum/?action=profile

or the displaying the users profile:
http://www.blackberrystudios.co.uk/forum/?action=profile;u=1

That is for SMF though, not YaBBSE.

Ironside82

I've tried doing that and it says the the user does not exist.
It looks like the PHP coding automotically adds user=Ironside82 (or whoever is currently logged in) to the end of:http://www.blackberrystudios.co.uk/forum/index.php?board=;action=profile
is there no other way?

I'm affraid i cant... I've been trying to find it myself.... The template there is a <yabb menu> command.... Do you know where the code for that command is held?

Gobalopper

I'm a little confused here, I thought we were talking about the sidebar on the left of the screen? Isn't that something you have coded yourself?

Ironside82

Yes those buttons on the sidebar are just buttons i've placed in using dreamweaver... i'm just going to link them to each page... The profile button is the only button who's link changes depending on a members username. Can you see what i've getting at... SMF would be fine to do because i'd just link the profile button to: "http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?action=profile" but YaBB SE requires the Members Useraname at the end: "http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?action=profileuser=Ironside82"

Ok now I understand. You should be able to get the username with $username or $GLOBALS['username'].

You'll also need the session id for logout...

Oh dear!... Looks like i've got myself into a bit of a mess. I'm not too good with codeing stuff. It's ashame cuz i quite liked the layout :s

[Unknown]

Well, username is <?php echo $GLOBALS['username'];?> and session id is <?php echo session_id();?>...

Shouldn't be too bad... action=logout;sesc=<?php echo session_id();?>

Should be... test and see how it works ;D...?

Another slight problem i've come across... dont know if anyone can help me with this one..

On my forum: http://www.blackberrystudios.co.uk/testforum/

When you move your mouse over a link it changes to a hand (like normal) but when you move it off a link it remains a hand and doesn't revert back to the pointer?

I've been messing around with the template quite a bit and I wondered if there was anything in there that could cause this to happen...

Thanks a lot

James

Works for me in Mozilla Firebird.

Oh rite... Must be Internet Exploerer then... I'll ask people to try it out see if they get the same problem
Thanks

Some of the text-decoration don't have any value i.e. you've got

text-decoration:;

instead of text-decoration: none; (which you've used elsewhere)

That could be causing some problems...

Ahh wait, here's your problem:

You use a custom cursor (specified by a url(address)) but don't specify a default cursor (see W3Schools page for an example)
