As subject says, it  just stalls with the green bar at the top of the screen and then nothing happens.

Anyone got an idea what's wrong?

I think you enabled "Quick reply" in profile. If you enable this function, disable it and test again .

lukeren

It was enabled, but disabling it doesn't make quote work.
Now nothing happens when I click the "Insert quote" link (after hitting reply at the bottom).

Do you have mods installed? Have you modified any SMF files manually?

I've got the Arcade mod installed, there was also an issue with the preview function not working, but I found a way around that.
I can't remember what I changed, since it was quite a while ago I did it, but that was only changed in the default themes file. If I change to the Classic YaBB theme the preview function doesn't work, nor does the quote function.

If I press preview, it just hangs with "Fetching preview..." in the preview field.

I get alot of "File does not end with ?>" errors, but that's on some of the files in the other themes.

In the default theme I get errors on 3 files:
    * File does not begin with <?php
    * File does not end with ?>

The files are:
Themes/default/languages/index.dutch.php
Themes/default/languages/Login.dutch.php
Themes/default/languages/Errors.dutch.php

The files are empty, but I'm not Dutch, I'm using the English theme.

Sarge

Well, it shouldn't hurt to put this:

<?php
?>

in those three files.

Any other files listed (apart from those in other themes)?

ssi_examples.php was listed too, but it was mentioned in the other post that it didn't matter with that one.
I tried putting the php tags in the other files, but it didn't help, same error.

Are there any particular php settings that must be set in php.ini?

Sarge

Did file_check.php list any files with the UTF-8 BOM?

More info!

I just tried disabling the Quick Reply, and now quoting works.
It doesn't work if I click the 'Insert Quote" from a post while typing a reply though. Then nothing happens and I get the following error in IE:

This is embarassing, like my spelling ...

I had google analytics running on the site, and when I comment that out, everything works!
I forgot that I had it in there really, that's why I didn't mention it as a 'mod'.
