Problems with logins

Hi using SMF and having problems  with loggin i when I go to the Forum it recoginsed my name etc but I cant do anything then it askes me to log in which I cant ...I have to logout then in if I go to another page of my site and come back the same thing happens ...so not able to automatically log Help please thanks
