Emailing Posts... does not offer user option to log in. Simply gives error

WHen I choose the "email this post" option, the recipient receives an email w/a link to the post, but unless that user was logged in already, they receive an error message telling them they don't have permission to view the post (rather than giving them an option to log in in order to view the post).

Is there a fix or patch for this somewhere??

The way around it is for the user to log in at the home page, then go back to the email and click on the link they were sent... but it seems there should be an option to log in when they get to the post they were emailed.

The error message they get is: An error has occured: " The topic or board you are looking for appears to be either missing or off limits to you. "

Instead, I would like it to say "in order to proceed, you must be logged in...." then allow them to log in, then take them to the post they were trying to reach.

Make sense?

Dan

**Edit.. not sure if it matters, but I got this error in section of my forum that is only available to one membergroup... but in this case, I had emailed a post to a member of that membergroup, and he still receives that notice and no login prompt.

Thank you for your prompt reply - that would be great if that feature were added, or a mod were made to make that happen! I know there are ways to go in and change the error message to at least give different text, but quite honestly, I'm a real rookie, and would love it if there were something I could simply apply using the admin section.

BTW, SMF is great... with all the support, features, mods and most of all (for a newbie) like me, it's EASY to use, upgrade & customize. Keep up the great work all!! I'm also using TinyPortal, which rocks. :-)

THANX!!!

I'm using 1.0.2... I'm assuming 1.1 is the latest beta or something?? I don't see it available on the site.

It's in development, currently... not yet stable.  It's being *used* on this site ;).
