Nice mod! But it seems to clash with the Aeva mod which add's a footer also.

Seems like a template or CSS issue. All the footer text show up on top of one another.

most mods are designed with default no mods basis, so if it clashes with another its probably because of  some code change which has to be manually fixed, noting to worry about,

Hmmm.. I don't think it's Aeva.

For some reason, when I create a customer copyright statement, it overwrites the copyright statment that is already there. So you can't read either of them, it's as if they are on top of one another.

Using the default theme and even a copy of the default theme.

Must be a CSS issue or I'm missing something.  This is with SMF 2.0 RC1.2

Thank S-Ace.  My first mod that I've used.  Installed easily (one exception was that the second language install failed, but as I am only targetting the UK I ignored the problem).  Works fine.

I had one problem.  As I don't know much HTML, I wasn't quite sure how to code.

What I did was do the links in my web design software (which is WebPlusX2), then "Publish to Disk" then open the resulting html file in Notepad and Copy and Paste the specific link code.  (I knew enough html to see what the link code was.)

I like this mod. It makes it much easier to put a personal copyright at the bottom of my forum.

However, the moment I installed this mod, I started getting a massive amount of errors in my error log. I get the same error each time a person refreshes a page or clicks a link. The error is:

Type of error: Undefined

8: Undefined variable: context
File: public_html/forum/Themes/default/languages/Modifications.english.php
Line: 184

I have since removed the $context['forum_name'] . and now have $txt['default_copyright'] = '©'; only.

I do not understand what the $context is pointing to. I assume it is supposed to pull forum's name and put a © in front of it as a default if I do not specify a copyright to use. However, when I leave it as the default, all I see is the © anyways (Please note that this is with and without the $context variable). Since I have removed that portion of the code, the forum copyright is intact and my (user defined) copyright is intact as well.

I tried this mod but it puts text over the original copyright in 2.0 rc1

Hi S-Ace,

I really like this mod and it is really useful for my forum as the it is part of a bigger site.  The footer links are invaluable.

BUT!!!!

I've just installed a new theme, "Lil", and the footer links and copyright have disappeared.  Support please.

I believe you need to post the index.template.php portion of the mod into the themes index.template.php.

I'm not sure how I go about that?  Would installing again be a simple option?

First, go to this page: http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?action=parse. It is the parsed code for this app. The very first template page you see there is for index.template.php.

Second, use FTP to copy the index.template.php file from the theme you are using. You find this at public_html>FOLDER_YOU_INSTALLED_SMF_TO>Themes>THE_THEME_YOU_ARE_WANTING_TO_EDIT>index.template.php.
Once you have copied the file to your desktop, change the name of the file on the server to index1.template.php so you have a backup of the original file.

Third, use a program such as Dreamweaver or Notepad++ to open the index.template.php file.

Fourth, follow the edit instructions from the link above. Save the file.

Lastly, FTP the newly edited file back to your server.

If there are any issues with the way the new template looks, all you have to do is rename the new template to index2.template.php. Then rename index1.template.php to index.template.php and the original will be back.

Thank you!  I'm really sorry but I decided to upgrade to SMF 2.0 RC.  Does this still apply?  Is this mod even compatible with 2.0 ?

Thank you so much for your time.

Mark.
