I know I'll get flamed for this but...

Is it just Me who gets annoyed wasting time clicking on what I think is some new, useful information in a topic only to find a Support Member is yet again just bumping the topic with a "Is this topic solved?" post...

Can't the Support Team just send the original poster a personal message instead? At least then we won't be clicking a topic for nothing and there's a better chance the original poster will get an email notification and actually respond...

I have been wondering about this myself as well.

Internal tracking is the main reason, ensuring we manage to deal with every problem...

If its an issue, go into your profile and set the board to be ignored :)

Also there is a good blog post about how you can too make use of some of our tools and how these posts help :)

It would have been best for ex, if instead of those words they would have come up with the solution instead. Just an idea :)

my answer remains the same:

It's twofold:  One, most people have topic notifications set.  They'll get an email about the reply.  So will other subsequently posting members.

The topics are bumped to see which topics require more attention.  To simply offer another possible solution months later -- while nice, no doubt -- is poor use of time and resources -- it leads to more recent topics falling behind because too much emphasis is put on old topics.  It's not foolproof, but It's the easiest and most time efficient way of queue management.

IF you still have a problem, then post to the topic (or post a new topic referencing the old one, preferably) -- you don't have to be the OP -- the entire reason they're posted to is to bring that topic to the team member who's posting's attention via their unread replies list.
