Aleksi "Lex" Kilpinen

Name: Aleksi "Lex" Kilpinen
Age: Quarter of a century 34 real soon.   Forever 29.
Location: Espoo, Finland.
Quote: "A question that sometimes drives me hazy: am I or are the others crazy?"
Position: Finnish Local Moderator and Support Specialist Project Manager

  • Do you have pets? None at the moment, am not planning to take one either.
  • What is your favorite color? Depends where actually, and black is not a color I'm told.
  • What kind of music do you like? Anything that's actually made with real instruments. Mostly rock and metal though. Occasionally industrial. I'm a freak for good lyrics too, combine meaningful lyrics with well done symphonic or melodic metal and I'm sold. In general - Music is life, life is music.
  • What do you do on your free time besides spending time on SMF? What free time? Is it something you can eat? I try to find time to enjoy music, movies, photography and video productions, Finnish nature and Geocaching, on top of working full time and running multiple websites of my own. Sometimes this works, sometimes not so much.
  • What are your goals/dreams in life? To live my life happy in doing what I do. And possibly getting rich? Always hoping for that winning lottery ticket.
  • What got you involved in SMF? Around 2005 I joined a little forum running on Xsorbit that I eventually ended up as a tech admin on, and moved the forum over to SMF 1.1 on my own VPS. Currently running multiple SMF installs on more recent versions.
    • Who do you admire? Why? Peter Tägtgren. Google it, you'll understand - or not. :P Also, quite a few other multi-instrumentalists, and skilled musicians.
    • Are you into sports?  If so which ones? No, not really. I would still like to go shooting every now and then, but haven't really had the time or money to keep up with this hobby.
    • What is your dream job? Can't say I have one, but I really enjoy working with people, and I'm generally pretty happy with my current job in the security field.
    • What was your first screenname? I honestly can't remember...
    • Do you have any piercings? None.
    • Are you a lefty/righty or ambidextrous? Righty.
    • Do you have any tattoo's?  If not do you wish/plan to get one? None, probably never gonna get one either. But never say never.
    • Do you have any siblings?  If so, how many of each? One brother, one step-brother.
    • What is your favorite website? Can't really name just one... But Google search is actually pretty high up there.
    • Do you play computer games?  If so, which ones? I really enjoy old adventure games in the spirit of Monkey Island and other LucasArts games. ;) Also Dragon Age, Elder Scrolls, Witcher and so on...
    • Do you play video game consoles?  Which ones? I own an Xbox One X and a PS4 Pro, plus 2 desktop PCs with emulators. So, yeah - occasionally. I am first and foremost a PC gamer though.
    • Are you married or planing to get married? No, single for the last decade or so.

      • If so do you have any kids?
      • How many kids?
    • How many languages do you speak?  If so which ones? Finnish, English and bare basics of German and Swedish.
    • Do you drink? Not often, but yes - at times too much.
    • Do you smoke? On and Off. I am legit addicted to nicotine though, so even when I'm not smoking I am using other alternatives.
    • Did you play hookey from class? A lot :P I remember being a stat leader at one point.
    • Do you have a license? For what? :P I've a license to practice my profession. And I also drive a car and can drive a motorcycle.

      • Do you own a car? Not really own.... I have a 2019 VW Golf as part of my pay.
      • Have you ever been stopped for speeding? No.
    • Do you obtain a good amount of sleep daily? Depends on the day. Normally something between 7 to 9 hours.
    • How do you sleep? On my back, in a bed or on my couch usually..
    • Have you ever been on an airplane? Yup, many times. My work involves travel at times.
    • Have you ever broken a bone? No. My nose has been broken though.
    • Do you wear jewelry?  If so what jewelry do you wear? Silver. For example, I got a ring, a necklace, a belt and a tie needle with the Coat of arms of Finland. Usually only wear the necklace and tie needle these days though.
    • How do you dress? Depends, I either wear a suit to work, or a uniform, but on free days I tend to dress in what I feel comfortable in.
    • How many keys are on your keyring? I currently have 2 keyrings for RFID tags, and 2 for keys...
    • What time do you go to bed?  What time do you wake up? Go to bed when I'm tired. On weekdays that's 10pm-11pm, and I get up around 6-7am.

true.  At least the people I know with boards got out before they went out of business but they really screwed a lot of people around.

Just ask away if you want to know something else :) I'd be happy to try and answer ;)

I'm told they do - I don't necessarily always agree.
BUT - it was great to be at Senaatintori when they performed there right after they won the Eurovision Song Contest ;)

Well, my kids have heard that winner song to death... I'm glad that part is over LOL. I like rock and partly heavy too, but that song is simply to... simple.

Sad Finland did so bad this year. It was actually a good mix of different genres. Not that I'm into Eurovision Song Contest, but I'm forced to see it every year :-\

Aleksi "Lex" Kilpinen

I actually like to watch the contest every year, simply because it gives a good variety of different styles of music from around Europe. I personally didn't expect Waldo's People to get in to the Finals even, so they did better than I thought :D

Typical Gars:

Who's your favourite character on The Simpsons?
Favourite Episode?

:P

And what's your thoughts on Futurama? :P

I really like Homer as a character, but hard to say if he is my absolute favorite.
And also I really can't name one particular episode as my favorite, after seeing them all multiple times.
I do like the way the series has evolved from the first episode to the latest season, but still I guess I'd have to go looking
for the best episode in some of the first seasons.

Futurama ain't bad, but not as good as the Simpsons. :)

Not one of them super critical people like I am then. The show in recent years, namely since Season 10 has gone downhill ever since Mike Scully took the Executive Producer seat (he stepped down for Season 13, with Al Jean taking his place and the quality hasn't been that much better)

For most people, including myself, Futurama is preferred more than The Simpsons. :P
