Converter questions not in Forum ?

I ran a test, on seperate domain created phpbb and smf, transfered wonderfully. Now it time for the real thing.
But before I trust my slef to do this I asked myself hmmmm
Now my question is before I migrate the real site:

From what ive read SMF reads the old links in phpbb.

#1 does that mean that you have to leave the Mysql data base intact
for phpbb and all its files indefinetly while you use smf?

#2 being its not a full transfer, does that mean smf could lose data if phpbb was hacked as it has it security issues.

#3 In ref to my question one if "TRUE" is there a way to thin out the phpbb if its only using the links ? Because I cant see using 15mb of space on a server for parts of phpbb i wont ever use.

If phpbb and SMF were operating systems
phpbb would be windows 3.1 on a 386sx-25 & SMF would be in a Dual Pent Alien PC with Window XP Pro.

Oh and the Mods are so easy I can't beleive it Ive used similar mods taking 20-30 minutes on phpbb, it took less the 20-30 second in smf.
I'm so impressed keep up the great work.

SMF will trasfer everything from phpbb to smf. I did this on my server. Then deleted the phpbb site and everything works fine.
You will not get hacked. As far as I know there are no known security issues with this.

I oplogies I was referring to the PHPbb
security issues.
Which was why I was concerned about it having anything to do
with SMF. And staying on contact.
But since its not. Cool.

Only during the conversion.  Afterward I would *BACKUP* and then delete it, personally.  Up to you though - you can keep it if you like.

It is a full transfer, although it's possible some data may not be transfered.  I'm not aware of any, except mods, though... so if any is missed, please say so.

Thanks for the kind words .  That said, this forum runs on a Celeron 1700 with Redhat Linux .
