is smf forum php5 compatible?

I ask this becouse my hosting is planing to switch to php5 somewhere in summer in about 3, 4 month
if not, it will be in this amount of time?

Of course!  SMF is fully compatible with PHP 5, and indeed I test and develop it locally using PHP 5 ;).

do you feel some changes from using smf on php4 to php5? hm, i mean, does it run "smoother" (right word?)

[Unknown]

PHP 5 is, in my experience, faster than PHP 4 - if that's what your asking.  Which, in turn, means that SMF - in my experience - runs faster on PHP 5 than on 4.

My experience was the other way round, I upgraded to PHP5 then went back to PHP4x.

i think depends on server, php.ini, zend, eaccelerator etc... that you both got different opinions?

Never tested PHP5 with eaccelerator as I couldn't get it to run without segfaulting, although even with the segfaults it was fairly quick.
