YaBBSE 1.5.3 > SMF 1.0.3 Question

I'm going to help a buddy convert his YaBBSE 1.5.3 to SMF 1.0.3 soon.  I was going to make a fresh install of SMF and use the YaBBSE to SMF converter so that if something goes south we can revert back to the YaBB system till we can try again.

I was reading through the converter and had a quick question.

Does it migrate the attachments from the YaBB system to the SMF system?  Move the files from one dir to the other and keep the links in the boards/messages for those attachments?  His YaBB system has 40mb of attachments going back months.

I wasn't sure by reading the file nor from doing searches on the site here.

TIA.

It should convert attachments just fine. Make sure you backup everything first before you convert.

Cool thanks for the info.   And yes... I've copied the dir and backed up the DB. :)  Just need to get time to run the scripts.

Thanks again.

I did my converstion tonight.  Everything worked great except no attachments made it over.   The posts that had attachments had them removed, with no message indicating that.

Is this working as intended?  Is there a way to get the attachments back into the posts?   I can manually copy the files from attachment dir to the next, but not sure about linking them all to the posts.

Which conversion method did you use?  Did you use the converter from the converters section of the downloads page, or the upgrader?

I used the converter from the downloads page.  (yabbse_to_smf.php)

I'm not sure if that does attachments just now.

Why not use the upgrader?  It's the one everyone else has used and the one that has been most fine tuned.  Just make a backup first.
