converter question

Hi.

About a year ago I setup one of those instant setup forums (phpbb2), and after I learned how to set them up on my own, i asked my forum host if he could send me the forum's database, and he did. But the database is being mean to me and won't restore through phpbb's database restore feature. So my question is, Is it possible to convert a phpbb database into a SMF forum without having the phpbb set up?

You will need your database files to convert. If you need help converting your phpBB forum you can search these forums, or some one would be willing to help you
