Is it ok to delete all these IPB tables?

I don't know if all these IPB tables that came with my conversion are necessary. Can I delete them?

It brought all the IPB tables along with the conversion for whatever reasons. There are a ton of tables left from different mods over the years, I was hoping to start fresh with SMF and leave all that clutter behind.

If you have IPB tables, AND smf_tablenamehere tables and everything is working, I would say it should be fairly safe to remove the IPB tables. SMF wouldn't need them, as it uses only it's own tables.
(Plus possibly mod created tables, usually still with the same prefix. )

BUT - you might want to simply make a backup of all the extra database tables just in case, before deleting them - just to make sure.

How you can help SMF

First, always make a backup.

You should be able to safely delete all non-SMF database tables and not affect SMF. In conversion, we don't write to the tables created by other software, but rather to SMF's tables.
