Simply move all files to the new directory where the domain is if you are still on the same hosting account.

Then use repair_settings.php to reset all file paths.

What is repair_settings.php?

Some settings are not being shown because the MySQL connection information is incorrect.

The error tells the story.  Check the information for your MySQL database name, user, prefix and password.  These all have to be correct in order for the forum to connect to the database.

anybody help plz frome where I have change this

Norv

Please write the correct server name, name and password for MySQL in the repair_settings.php page, and save.
If you are certain it is the correct server name, name and password for MySQL, then contact your host and ask them about what is wrong with MySQL server.
To-do lists are for deferral. The more things you write down the later they're done... until you have 100s of lists of things you don't do.

As Norv stated, just enter the correct information in repair_settings.  If after entering the information you have, you still receive a message then it would definitely be time to contact your host.

thanks for help sir

i contact  my host i give me passward and user name and i right it but but nothing happened
save option is same freeze

i get it same error

Some settings are not being shown because the MySQL connection information is incorrect.

Norv

Ah. But it says there too why it cannot save them: Settings.php cannot be written on the webserver.
You need to make it writable.
Please check the file's permissions: chmod it to 777, or 755 if that fails. (How do I chmod? / what is chmod?)

Then, run repair_settings.php again. Change again the names/passwords so that it's all correct. Then press "save settings".

Critical Settings
These are the settings most likely to be screwing up your board, but try the things below (especially the path and URL ones) if these don't help. You can click on the recommendded value to use it.

Norv

That's okay, it's no error, it's a warning to pay attention. Because with these settings right, your forum will function. With them wrong, it will not.
Please read them carefully and make sure they're correct (for your forum). Then save them.

Paths & URLs:
These are the paths and URLs to your SMF installation, and can cause big problems when they are wrong. Sorry, there are a lot of them.

and sir when i open my site link this massage is coming

Template Parse Error! It seems something has gone sour on the forum with the template system. This problem should only be temporary, so please come back later and try again. If you continue to see this message, please contact the administrator.

You can also try refreshing this page.

Norv

When you save, it's okay if it shows the same page.

About template parse error: does it say anything else, like the name of a file, or the line number?

Please also tell: did you copy the files from the old host exactly how they were when the forum was working fine? Or did you make modifications in the forum files? For example, in index.template.php, or in others.

thanks for help sir yes i make modifications forum files .

Norv

I'm afraid it would be better if you undo those modifications, then make them one by one. So that you see where the error appears, and correct it.
