RC1 forum slow

I am running SMF 2.0 RC1-1 on a live site (Its in my siggy and under my profile) and it seems just fine in Firefox.

For some reason it also depended on what version of FF you are running and it seemed to vary from member to member. Some members never reported any problems with speed but other reported RC1 to be very slow and much slower than any other forums.

Well, do you experience this issue yourself with the latest version of Firefox (The current latest is 3.5)

If it isn't, get it and try, and tell all your members to do the same. It usually is a good idea to keep your software updated as we all should know. xD And this could be a source of one of the issues, and older version of Firefox which might have had some kind of bug fixed in a later version.

yeah we have been updating as it updated and we are now running on  Firefox/3.0.11 but as I said with Java disabled it seemed to have help a huge amount with this issue

Java? o_O Do you have any java applets on your page..? Do any other websites see such a significant speed increase if you disable Java?

DirtRider, upgrade to Firefox 3.5. It kills 3.0 for speed and has several other advances too.

(yes I realise this doesn't necessarily address the root issue here but....)

@ aldo -  Well I was in a bit of a spot with this issue as itw as not really affecting me that much. Then again I don't have the best broadband around so I never really knew if it was or not.


@ Antechinus  - Cool thanks I have upgraded so I will see how it goes from now on
