SMF to IPB

I know this isnt the right place to put it, but ive been looking for weeks now for a converter, and couldnt find one.  If you know of any, just PM me please, I really need this.  There is just 1 thing that smf cant do for me, otherwise I love it....

Not that i can see why you would even want to go to the "dark side" but i suppose you could download the SMF converter and make it backwards compatible or whichever way its phrased

I would think it not that easy to "reverse" the process just by shifting the code or something...

Really, its more logical to look for a SMF to IPB converter on a IPB site, rather than a SMF site. The developers of SMF has put together a great tool for IPB users to convert their forum to SMF should they wish - but you can't expect the reverse too.

I don't think any of the other forum scripts have "reverse" converters either, they usually support only conversion from other scripts INTO their own. Which makes sense.

its the ability to allow people to post in  a certain section, but nobody can view what they posted, not even themselves, except for admin

yea, so people can "apply" in a certain forum with "private" stuff, so admins can read the applications and nobody else can

You can just use PMs for this...

Create the "private" section, making it only available to a particular group.
Next, announce it to everyone and have them apply to you via PM.
If you accept their application, then you can add them to that group.

It's also relatively easy to make a board show up on the board index even if the group viewing the board index can't access that board...
