Hello all, I logged into my admin area and saw an upgrade to 1.1.10 was available. I clicked to update my forum and saw these test failed results.

4.     Execute Modification     ./Sources/ManageRegistration.php     Test failed
5.    Execute Modification    ./Sources/Packages.php    Test failed
6.    Execute Modification    ./Sources/PersonalMessage.php    Test failed
9.     Execute Modification     ./Sources/Register.php     Test failed

This is the first time I have encountered a problem as I have been upgrading since 2007.

Here is a link to my server status in the event that helps.

The only installed package I have is the aeva 6.9.99.

Should I install the upgrade or is there cause for concern here?

You will need to manually upgrade those files. (Refer to: Upgrading SMF)
Good "SMF" Portals
Tiny Portal [SMF 1.1.x only]
Simple Portal [SMF 1.1.x and 2.0]

Good "SMF" Theme Sites
SMF Themes [SMF 1.1.x and 2.0]
Dziner Studio [SMF 1.1.x and 2.0]

Do you still need help or would you like me to Mark this topic Solved?

Patience. This topic isn't even 2 hours old :)

@ OP, you will need to parse the manual install instructions and perform the edits by hand using a FTP client such as Filezilla.

I've had the same errors come up, don't have time to do a manual upgrade so will have a look later but as the OP say's its the first time in two years of using smf an upgrade has failed   :o

I had the same errors. It turned out that this made the package fail:

QuoteFind: [Select]

* Copyright 2006-2007 by:     Simple Machines LLC (http://www.simplemachines.org) *

Replace With: [Select]

* Copyright 2006-2009 by:     Simple Machines LLC (http://www.simplemachines.org) *

The problem is that in my case those four files did not contain "* Copyright 2006-2007 by:     Simple Machines LLC (http://www.simplemachines.org) *", but just "* Copyright 2006 by:     Simple Machines LLC (http://www.simplemachines.org) *"

I fixed it by manually editing the four files on my server and changing
* Copyright 2006 by:     Simple Machines LLC (http://www.simplemachines.org) *

to
* Copyright 2006-2007 by:     Simple Machines LLC (http://www.simplemachines.org) *

Then I applied the upgrade package without any issues.

Confirmed, thank you b0x!

It's a problem in the upgrade package, and b0x's solution should work for this problem.

Indeed. This is an issue with the upgrade package, I have notified the developers and will get a sticky in place shortly.

Another newbie question.

I have two sites running SMF forums.

The one I mentioned in my original post in this thread is still having the same problems. The other forum updated smoothly w/ no problems.

Has the developers updated the upgrade package or is that still pending?

Y2Chaos

LOL, I had a harder time finding and downloading a php editor than actually editing those files. Thanks for the help. I would not have been able to do it on my own. You can lock this one as solved.

Either the upload on the mod site has not been updated, or the packages are still wrong, because the error is still there...

Regards,
Richard.

I'll look into it now.
