Please help!!! RESOLVED:-)

I'm having major problems with my conversion from IPB but now I can't even manage my boards. When I click on manage boards I get this error: An Error Has Occurred!
Board Announcements does not have a valid parent. Use the 'find and repair errors' function to fix this but when I go to find and repair errors it says there are no errors so now I'm trapped in an endless loop. This happened after I clicked on  "find and repair errors' the first time. It did supposedly find and repair a bunch of errors that first time but now I can't get in to manage any boards. I tried using the repair_settings.php tool but nothing changed. I have my IPB forum offline and I can't get this one to work worth a darn. I would just go back to using IPB but they want more than I can afford for a license and I'm not a PHPBB fan so this is my only hope. I have said before that SMF is fantastic for easy installation and upgrade but when it comes to administration it is 50 times more difficult to deal with than either IPB or PHPBB. With all the problems I'm having right now I figure it will take a minimum of 40 hours just to get to where I can actually put this board online and then I will still have a weeks worth of fixing to do in order to get it back to what it was as an IPB.

Thanks for letting me vent but now please help me with this "find and repair errors" problem so I can at least manage my boards.

As you can see, going to "find and repair errors" is what got me in trouble to start with. My problems have gone way beyond that now anyway. I tried changing something in PHP (I should know better) and it crashed the forum altogether even after I changed it back. I'm giving up on the idea of ever having the forum converted to SMF. I cannot see how anyone other than a professional programmer could do it.

What errors are you getting? What exactly happens when you try to get to the "manage boards" section? I can't help you if I don't know exactly what is going on...

Hi Oldiesmann,

Thank you for replying but I have already deleted the SMF board again and am still using the IPB for now. I really want to convert it to SMF since I have other SMF forums already and like them but I get so many errors when I try it that it's just mind boggling. I will try it again soon when I have time and will list all the errors that I experience. I assume it would be better to start a new thread at that time.

Yeah, go ahead and start a new topic and we'll see what we can do about the errors.
