I'll see what I come up with.

I'm struggling to do anything at the moment, my internet is dialup speed.  1/30th of the speed I'm supposed to be getting.

What you need to do is download it to your computer.

Then goto full reply here and under additional options, attach the file

Hope this helps.

Hi,

any luck with a solution?

Thanks

karlbenson

sorry chopper.
I've been through your file twice and I can't see why your getting two clips.

a) What browser are you using?
b) Whats your forum url so i can test it
c) if it still won't work, try uninstalling/reinstalling.

ProbablyNot

I'd really like to use this mod, but it needs options.

1) I like the change you made for disabling the embedding in signatures, however I hate that I would need to modify the mod every time you update.  How about making that an admin option?

2) I can see my message board from work, pretty much all video sites are blocked from work, repeatedly trying to hit blocked sites results in me being flagged for internal review.  I'd like to have a user settable option to disable embedding so that each user can choose to see the links or the embeds.

karlbenson

As stated above, for this mod I do NOT want to add any admin/user settings.
Doing so means
- Adding language strings
- Making template changes which would require manual edits for other themes.

That is why the enabled/disable is in the code.
I've tried to make the mod so NO manual editing is necessary out of the box.

The manual edit to disable the embedding in signatures will NOT be included in the mod because it alters a major function of smf as a dirty hack rather than a good modification and may not be compatible with other mods or future versions of smf.  I have requested that hooks be built into that function which would enable mods to be written to disable parts of bbcode for specific areas like the signature.

The test video didnt work Karlbensen but thanks for trying

karlbenson

Chopper,
The test video works fine for me.  1 x working instance of the video.

This could be a browser issue. What browser are you using?

@Rummie,

Yes, I'm well aware that SMF is configured for WAP usage. It's not recommended on WAP 1, though, but that's not the point. The point is that while the functionality is included, it's not the primary way SMF is designed. The mods, styles and features are designed to be used by fully-functioning PC-based internet browsers. If you can find some way to configure your PSP/Wii/etc browser to read as WAP under SMF, that might be the best way. Or for SMF to read the PSP/Wii/etc browsers as wireless browsers on your board. That might help.
Do NOT PM me for support.

internet explorer 7. Still not working yet

karlbenson

try clearing all your cache/history/cookies.

Its working fine for me in all my browsers.
The only alternative is possibly a faulty flash install. Does it work on other sites?

Hello

Everything's working fine for my forum with firefox and IE6.
IE 7 user's can't see the google video's (others seem to work)

Chopper

karky

With google videos and IE7, the videos don't start.

For example : hxxp:video.google.com/videoplay?docid=7900886901361535984 [nonactive]

Yeah, I tryed to test the mod (v1.2), and it just posted the link and not the video, I'm using IE7.

Now I think i know why, before I install the mod, it gives me this:

Modification - Install.xml       Modification Parse Error
Modification -                      Modification Parse Error

karlbenson

that is not an error with the mod but an issue with your server setup.

Mostly likely either the permissions are not 777 on the packages folder or your server has php in safe mode.
See http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=200213.0
If that does not resolve your issue please create a separate topic to get help with the issue rather than further posts in this mod.

if you got the error, you should not have clicked install and if you tried to it will have not have installed.

iPivot

Packages Folder is 777, not sure about safe mode.

karlbenson

It is almost certain you will get this error with any mod you install.

It would look to be a specific server issue.  I've seen it before with crappy hosting from servage.

I would therefore suggest you try obtain help by creating a topic in one of the support forums such as
http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?board=9.0
as this topic is for mod-specific support.
