I didn't have to make any edits to this mod to get it playing high quality Youtube versions when available- just click the box for it in admin. I still have the other problems mentioned however with the Check whether Youtube videos are embeddable,  Fix uses of the embed html with an embeddable link,  Include the Original Link (for sites that don't have it in the player) features not working.

I have adjusted your mod for turkishutube.com , and it is beautifully working. You can be sure that I just added the turkishutube.com parts, and didn't change the others. I got the idea using the godtube because turkishutube and godtube have similiar scripts.

I have some problems. I have local links to .avi files, coded by H.264-video codec, in some posts. This links are auto embed as div-x and try to play with DIv-X-plugin. As result we can see a green screen with audio. I have disabled "Embed Local Files" for all formats, but videos stay embedded.
SMF 1.1.7, AEVAC v. 4.0.2 (clear installing).

Is there a known problem about yahoo videos not showing up?

For instance,  I posted 10 yahoo videos in a post, only 2 of them shows up.

Most of the time, none of them shows up.

Questions about how to make this work -

I've installed version 4.0.2 onto SMF 1.1.7 and it seems to work just fine with external videos (at least it does with YouTube). However, when I try to embed local files I only get links - no videos. My forum is located at:

The video files (I've tried most formats - mov, avi, wmv...) just aren't loading. I have ALL of the extensions for local files checked in the admin area. When I embed them in a post I get the following:

mov - link
mpg - link
wmv - link
flv - link
mp4 - audio control bar
avi - puts a divx web player up, but stays permanently at "buffering 0%"

If I load up any of these by typing the URL directly onto my address bar most of them load fine (except for the fact that I have to wait for them to fully download before playing - no streaming). The flv doesn't work at all - I apparently need to install a flash player on my server?

Any ideas/help? I'd appreciate it!

I gather there's no support for this mod anymore ? Anyway, in case somebody met and solved this strange bug, I'd love to hear how :

For some reason, it seems that each 10th video in a page (or thread?) is displayed as a link, instead of embedded. The 11th, 12th, 13th etc. videos show normally (actually I haven't checked beyond 14 yet), but not the 10th. And it's not video-dependant : if you swap them around, the tenth is always hidden.

I know that's pretty cute, for a bug, but still, any idea how to correct this ?

Unfortunately Karl has left us due to lifes timings. It is mentioned many times through the last few pages.

If I recall correct, there is a limit to how many clips can be embedded in one page.
So it aint a bug
It is hard coded, so you'll have to manually make the changes.
Search through these pages to find the solution for altering the limit, as I didnt use it.
If it isnt here, then it'll be in the old thread which is located [HERE]

Run a few search querys, and sift through the mess, and you'll usually find your questions have been answered.

Thanks. But I doubt it's that. I don't seem to have issues with a video limit, my problem is much sillier. The 10th one isn't displayed, but I can display more of them : the 11th one DOES get embedded (on the same page), as do the next ones. It's not a question of amount. It's just a pretty random "hey YOU THERE, number 10, no no".

In fact there's settings in the AEVAC admin panel, that you can change to allow how many videos you want per page and per post. But this hasn't solved my "video number 10" problem.

Hello you X-named fellow. I have the same problem as you with some videos (I even get the typically youtubic "this video is no longer available" message). Strangely enough, you won't get this problem with Karlbenson's other youtube embedder mod :

HOWEVER, despite of what he claims, both mods don't seem to coexist well. BBCoding a youtube video in the presence of AEVAC makes the video appear twice (I suppose once through bbcode, and once through the AEVAC-ization of the url between said bbcodes).

SO, i am annoyed.

The good news is that uninstalling and re-installing AEVAC seems to have solved my mysterious Nr.10 exclusion. Now I am wondering, like you, why those videos are available through Karlbenson's YT-BBC and not through Karlbenson's AECAV. I'll keep watching this place while pulling off and chewing my hair.

Yes, I prefer this mod because I don't have to resort to BBCode, which just confuses some of my members.  I'll try reinstalling to see if it helps.  Good to see other X-named fellows out here

Guess I have to resort to BBCode.  It will co-exist as long as you uncheck YouTube options in AEVAC.
