Guess I have to resort to BBCode.  It will co-exist as long as you uncheck YouTube options in AEVAC.

Ah, hadn't thought of that. I'll maybe resort to it too, although it'll probably make AEVAC useless (no forumer has used another site than youtube by now).

The confusing thing is that, as both mods are from the same author, one would expect them to deal with youtube a similar way. So I ask the -possibly naive- question :

Is there a way to integrate ft-bbc's "youtube embedding" code (without the bbc tags part) into aevac ? Could it be an angle through which a modder could -rather simply- correct that issue, and release some sort of v4.0.3 ?

Yes, please!  Has this mod been abandoned?  Not much of a php coder, but I'm sure someone out there could do this!  In fact, I used to use the one I'm now having to resort back to, but moved to AEVAC for the obvious reasons.  Just can't work with it, if it won't work with us...

I think it is : I am using it on 1.1.7 and it didn't destroy anything. But, maybe the white-circle-of-death problem does come from 1.1.7. I wonder if the peoblem would have occured on 1.1.6. Xaneth, you are under 1.1.7 too ?

when i post videos from vimeo, it automatically resizes it down to almost 1/2 of a standard youtube vid. is there a way to have the vimeo vids posted at least in 600x338?

when i post with this mod, i just enter the URL..

It does appear that it won't be possible to provide the HQ streams. It isn't simply a case of recognising the fmt=6.
But needs other variables aswell.
So it will be a case of watching this space to see if they make it easier to embed the HQ streams externally of youtube.com

Hmm, I seemed to manage to get HQ playback in the 3.x package by changing some values in Subs-AEVAC.php

Karl is out and not active anymore, so you have very limited support. Its best for you to use 3.1.2 if you are having problems with 4.0.2, which is mod in the beta stage. Can't really do much more for you but it's best not to install a mod in beta if you have a active site.

Open the php file that comes with the mod. Search vimeo and change the values of the size to your liking. Then all you have to do is replace the php file on your server.

This older version seems to have solved all my problems. I will miss the nifty little settings console, though, but, I gladly trade it for displayed videos.

Wow shocking, I assume someone will take over this mod then? This is the type of mod that needs a very active developer.

Well that could be a bit for a person to do because they could be busy with work and such. I'm fine with the 3.1.2 version but a stable version of this mod would be helpful.

The only thing the 3.xx version needed was the possability to play HQ playback

You can't. Youtube does not allow for it, even in the html embing code they provide for each video.
