@Sabre> No, for now I'm trying to fix broken websites instead of removing them (I spent a whole day on fixing a few of them). I think I removed a couple of sites when I got hold of the mod though, I don't remember which (a couple of ugly unprofessional low-traffic sites). I should update the site list about them.

@taha> 5.0.16 is the newest, of course... (Oh well I thought it would be obvious given the title of the topic, sorry.....)

Thanks Nao.
Yeah I spent a while comparing the files...  you and a few would know how tedious that task is! lol
I noticed the subtle changes you've done to alot of the sites listed, and all I can say is....
GOOD JOB!
I see how much you've dedicated to this project, and there isn't one person here that doesn't appreciate it. :)
Keep doin ya thang bro, and congrats on your "stable" release.

Cheers

I should have known you were going to release this version. Danish language is uploaded to noisen.com.

Mikeric

good job on all the work. Do you have a site list? Im still wondering if Streetfire.net is working again. It used to for me and then stopped a while ago.

Nao 尚

Thanks, Sabre. It isn't THAT hard. It's just that sometimes... Well, let's say when I get started on fixing/adding a website, I never know beforehand if it's going to be easy, average, hard, or just downright impossible. That's a bit annoying.

Mikeric> The site list is pretty much everywhere, including in the mod page. I fixed several websites today (check out the "Video embedding" topic over at aeva.noisen.com), and I used the opportunity to test Streetfire.net -- embedding works fine. Tested on several vids. Can you post a link that won't work?

Well you'll definitely have to update the mod regularly if you want to have site fixes etc ;)
Of course, I also understand how complicated it can be to update regularly, so I'm trying not to make changes to the install scripts (which means you can simply copy the updated files to your folders and you're done.)
I *will* have to update the xml install files at one point though, because I'm planning to partly rewrite the protection code. (Basically: it just won't work on some setups... While the protection code I wrote for the [smg] tag seems to work fine.)

is it possible to make a auto update feature for mods integrated into smf so when u upload another version u can select one as the latest. like when ppl upgrade smf without even leaving their own site

Before this mod I used the YouTube BBCode... now I'd like to uninstal that mode and use only this one... Anyone have already changed the BBCode [youtube] with the full youtube link or I made a php script to replace the code??

Thanks.

Nao 尚

@ITA003> Yes, check out Karl's script for easy conversion:

Open the Files.zip file, there's a stand-alone php file which you can execute from your server. :)

@taha116> I'm not much into mod theory (yes, I know, it's curious but I'm learning), so I'll leave it to anyone else to answer your question. It should be noted, though, that any mod can be installed from within your package area without having to leave your site -- but you'll need to navigate the download sites from within your website and, given the number of mods available, it can get pretty complex quickly.

Nao,

The new version seems to have broken the embedding disabled notification feature. So, now there is no high quality video AND no notification.

I really like the support for Justin.tv though, thanks. They are streaming some weightlifting competitions on the net so its a good one for my site.  :D

Nao 尚

lol.
Did that notification work in 5.0 beta? I don't think I changed anything in that area... :-/
Does it still say "#noembedding" or something next to the Youtube URL?
Can you provide an example?

Changing the code mentioned a page or two back made the notification work in 5.0 beta but disabled the ability to play high quality video. An example:

Nao, that sucks. I uninstalled old beta and installed new beta with no error warnings, no errors in log, etc.

Nao 尚

This is not a "new beta", it's an official public release now...

Basically, I can't help here. I'm not comfortable enough with the code to be able to tell you what's wrong.

What I know, though, is that I'll be deeply changing the underlying code in the future, to make it closer to what I would have made if I had had to make an Aeva mod from scratch. It may be better -- or worse. I don't know yet!

Re: the ".core" file issue reported by a few users.
http://bugs.php.net/bug.php?id=39349

This is the reason why it doesn't work. (I think.)
It's got a recursive, complex, preg_replace (which Karl titled the "god of all regexps"). If the server's stack isn't large enough, it will generate a segfault and crash the page. (Hence the .core dumps)

I'm not sure I have a solution here...
Any ideas?

Apart from rewriting the system... Which I intend to do at one point...
