The files are at the root of your zipped package...

Oh well okay, send me your codes... :-/

There are no aeva/aevac files anywhere that I can see. Perhaps because I uninstalled and deleted it? I will PM you access details. Thanks very much for looking into it for me.

95% of all YouTube videos are still in 4/3 format so the current embed format is still best for YT... (Wait until I add a feature where Aeva will determine automatically the best format.)

I produce my own youtube content which is in High Quality and High Def Rez.  Any idea when you will add that feature?

I'll try for next week.
I'm really overwhelmed with work -- updating Aeva of course, but also fixing issues for individuals, updating SMG, updating Noisen (there's a lot of work to be done on it currently...), and so on. I don't exactly remember whether I did anything remotely connected to real life in 2009 so far.  :P

I found out there's other things in life than computers and internet.
I pretty much ended my Internet activity for a month twice, in late 2001 and mid-2005. Was very happy and everything. So yes I can live without it for some time, but then again on a daily basis I don't see myself doing anything else than working on a computer, eh...

Okay, done...
You had correctly uninstalled recent versions, but there was an older version from Karl's day that had a leftover line (disableautoembed), I just removed it from Load.php and that was all. I tried to uninstall & reinstall automatically and it works.

Actually I would have thought there were more changes in Load.php, but that's just the one. I mixed it up with SMF Media Gallery where there are all sorts of edits everywhere... (Three times as many edits, to be specific.)
The Aeva install process is a piece of cake in comparison.

Hi and first of all thank you for the mod.
One problem for me is that I cannot seemt o get it working.
If I enable debug-mode it gives me parsing times but links are not converted.
Where to start to have a look at?

Thanks in advance!

I dunno.
Start by giving us links to some pages on your site where URLs don't get parsed...

Edit:

Hang on, this mod does not seem to work on pages, guests are not allowed to see.
I made a new post and it worked, with old links it won't.

Nao 尚

What do the old links say?
Enable guest access and share a couple of pages where we can see both "old" and "new" urls.

Hmmm, if that was the only line of the mod leftover, how did it still work?

Thanks for fixing me up again!!!

Nao 尚

@weightman> Maybe it was a very old Aevac, and there were other lines in other files that got left there as well... I didn't check other files. What matters to me is whether you can uninstall+install automatically. Yes you can, so I'm not going to look further. If you want a clean SMF, just reinstall SMF itself ;)

@phpchris> Regarding the first link... There's a search result. These aren't supported by Aeva. It supports item pages and playlists. The other link isn't highlighted. Aeva only converts links that are highlighted. You used to have the youtube bbcode mod. You need to run the youtube uninstaller script that I posted a few pages earlier (can't remember which, but check out my profile > show contributions > attachments, and look for the latest, or one of the latest files I uploaded). Run the script on your site and you'll get your links to work just fine.

Gotcha. I'll hold off at this point on clean install until SMF 2 is fully released.  :D

Can both the YouTubeBBC mod and the AEVA mod be installed and function well in the same forum? Wouldn't that cause any conflict ? I'm asking because one of my forummembers says that he cannot watch the YouTube videos anymore in my forum but he has no problems watching videos from other videosites. He says that whenever he tries watching YouTube videos he's redirected to the YouTube videosite and gets a "short message inside a  red bar: Invalid parameters". I see no errors in the error logs
More details here

I converted the old youtube tags but shouldn't all YouTube video urls posted there look the same now all over the forum ?
Some of them look like videolink,  some other videolinks look like [url=videolink][/url] and some of them look like [url=videolink]videolink[/url]
Is that normal ?

Nao 尚

Regarding the first problem: I never saw this before... Your videos work fine for me too. I'm not sure what's the issue with this user really. He probably had the same issue before. Can you try enabling or disabling HQ in the admin area (aeva section)? I don't think this will have an influence, but I don't see any other way of changing the URL type for YouTube.

Now with the second request: yes, this is normal. Once a link is posted, SMF parses it, and adds the url tags to it. Aeva will only convert a video if it was first parsed by SMF and turned into the url tag thing. This is one of my concerns by the way -- should I turn [url=videolink]videolink[/url] into [aeva url=videolink] (self-closing tag), or [aeva (options here)][url=videolink]videolink[/url][/aeva]? Yeah I know, I'm probably the only one wondering about these silly things... ;)

It doesn't make any difference.

Well it seems that the problem just started ... Romania 2009
I see nothing wrong with the last 2 videolinks from that thread and yet no videos are displayed there. This is exactly what I noticed soon after I installed aeva ... some of the youtube video urls work out just fine, some of them don't. I understand if it happens when the embeding is disabled or whenever the video is removed from YouTube but why now ? I wish I can see something ... anything in the error logs .... even "Hello World" would be better than nothing.

You're starting to scare me   :o I don't even want to hear about any other audio video related tags.    :P (j/k)

You probably reached the maximum number of videos per page. Above that, it might crash your browser.

LainaaYou're starting to scare me   :o I don't even want to hear about any other audio video related tags.    :P (j/k)
Well my concept of a tag is to be as silent as possible. ie, you don't even have to know it exists. It is only there for you to fine-tune your videos.
