Integrating Wordpress and SMF together

I have searched through the forum and have found some successful intergrations between WP and SMF. What I am trying to do is add the new topics at the bottom of my homepage which is Wordpress. I have made a test file and have successfully gotten to work from the help of this and this post. So it seems pretty simple to me.

Now this is my directory structure below:

home/sfboarders/public_html/nameless - subdomain of nameless.domain.com (Wordpress)

home/sfboarders/public_html/nameless/board/ subdomain of nameless.domain.com/board (this is where SMF is)

I went into Wordpress to add the following entry below to my header template at the top of the page.

I just wanted to see what would happen before I entered ssi_recentTopics(); somewhere on my site and I got a mess of errors on the home page. Can someone point me in the right direction?

Databases are separate.

SMF is _yabbse (upgraded from Enigma Portal)
WP is _wp

[Unknown] if I make a new db username would this resolve this issue? I found this not sure if I have to do that.

Ok I figured out how to get it to work thanks to Diplomat's recent post here.

Except I can't get ssi_recentPoll to show up. I'd like to get the options and the submit button to show. Can someone help me out with this? I tried it on a test page but same results. TIA.

It will only show polls you've not voted in; are you sure it's not working?

I tested by making some brand new polls and I did not vote and I still can't get it to show.
