How long has your most active forum been running?

Mine? It went for about 6 months since the start, but with the new one, less than 2 months.

And My pervious forum was up for about 6 months before I took it down due to extreme flaming.

Well Clapter is prone to flaming easily, so expect it. And as for iKorp, I'm looking for a designer now. Hopefully BETA in about a month.

My most active board, Ayeka's Bliss, has been online now for about six years. Now if only I can figure out what I did back in 2005 and 2006 that got my site so many new members and posts LOL

lol Senkusha - The answer to you figuring that out will be - Timing. The internet was newerish back then, and not so many sites covering the topic you are - was up. Also Clapter, PM sent to you, about something.

TalkPark.net has been up since March of last year and on SMF since May. We used to get around 500-1000 posts a day but I've sort of started slacking so we're down to around 100. Our average is still a steady 350 though.

It is an ongoing process, always adding, changing, and dropping what doesn't work.
We lost a lot of regulars about a year ago, and have been rebuilding regular membership.
There was some major disagreements over policy, but in the end, we survived.
We were up to 660, dropped to 200. now back to almost 300.

I refused to allow folks to dictate to me how things should be.

Members get pissed and threaten to leave or even actually leave, but if you market you'll get more

That is a matter of perspective I guess. Our staff will put out a flame war extremely fast. We don't get very many. They disrupt the flow of the other conversations, give a bad impression of the forum, and usually turns away regular members as well as new members. They may be fun for the moment sometimes, but are destructive to the health of your site.
