I've got SMF 1.1.10 on what I'm currently using, and am fairly happy with it.

I'm setting up a new forum for another site and am wondering if I would be better off downloading SMF 2.x ?

I am no expert at coding etc. so I am just a little concerned about bugs.

Any advice?

Thanks,
Mark.

Go with 2.0. Just don't get carried away with customising until RC2 goes public in a couple of weeks. :)

Sounds good.  I won't be "going live" until a couple of weeks time anyway, so I may give it a few days to give the developers time to do last minute fixes.

I would also recommend 2.0. It has way more features, alot of better mods/themes - and is just better overall.

The new features in 2.0 really REALLY are worth the upgrade, even more so if you're just starting out, and IMO that's just complemented beautifully by Curve (the new default theme)

Something like that

There are a ton of speed improvements in 2.0 RC2. I'd wait until it comes out.
