This mod should be installed using the Package Manager. No manual edits should be necessary, but if it comes to that resort, please use the Package Parser.

Am I doing something wrong?  The package installed fine. I've put the tick in the box and chosen the #..... colour but it doesn't show up as it does in the screenshot.  I'm using another theme that I have made 'default' so it shouldn't matter.  Is it because I am Admin for the forum?

tyty1234

When it installs to the "default" theme of your forum, it will install to "default" theme of your SMF installation, not the forum default theme.

I'm not too clear about what you say.  I am using Blu Tabs, so what should I do.  I guess I should edit the blu tabs template?  A bit more help is welcomed. Thank you

Yes, that is correct. You will need to parse the modification, and make the necessary template edits for SMF 1.1.10. If you have SMF 2.0, there will be a section on the bottom of the install page to allow you to install to other themes.

Many thanks, all is clear now.  I have also discovered the 'SMF Package Parser' so all's well  ;D

Great idea, nice mod :)
As an offtopic note, I finally fixed the "official" package parser website... Didn't realise it had been broken for nearly the whole year :|

Which "official" package parser site? The one on your personal site?
And I think I did mention to you that there was a ton of bugs with your package manager on MSN. :P

I installed the mod successfully (in the admin panel by clicking on "package").

But nothing happens ... what should I do to be active?

Thanks

This option can be accessed via Admin -> Configuration -> Features and Settings -> Layout.

I will also try get a SMF 2.0 RC2 - RC4 version out when I can :)

Version 2.0 has been released! It supports SMF 2.0, but no longer supports SMF 1.1.x forums. Please refer to the OP for what's new in this version. This mod, along with the other mods that I wrote are also available on my site.

Where's the link to the mod in the start posting?

Hello

I receive an error message in the installation, see screen:

and

++
Sorry, I use the on-line translator ("Reverso") French / English

tyty1234

It is likely that it's conflicting with another mod. What you can do is click the image on the far left column of the ManageSettings.php line, see the edits that need to be made, look for the "Find" code in ManageSettings.php and see if there's anything that causes the mod to fail to install.

I too prefer bolded over colored. Such option would be really nice.

Hi,

ist possible to update the mod? Can´t install it on smf 2.0.10

Thanks.

Shambles

The download link in post #1 seems to point to the wrong mod ("hide topic replies").

faliro

This mod doesn't install for me. Comes out with errors.

Is there currently a working mod to bolden unread topics?

Cheers

I spose what I am after is a working mod that highlights new topics. There is probably another one besides this one, just can't find it.   :-\

Steve

I can't find one either. The closest I got was this one which gives a few kinds of unread links: http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=3782

Thanks again for the reply.

I actually added this mod yesterday, but it messed up all my buttons and pushed them down a level making a real mess. Also it doesn't highlight the new topics, just gives you neat links to new posts.

What I am really after is the mod that boldens new posts, as this smf forum uses:

I found a mod for that here:

http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=414757.0

But like the one in this thread, it just lead to a world of pain:

Dzonny

You don't need any of that, please take a look at this post and solution provided there:
