Wanted - Customisable fields within paid subscriptions in v2.0

Members of my Chevette Owners Group forum are either unpaid 'guests' or fully paid members of the club. When people sign up via post they send me an application form with their details and some info about their car. If I could add extra fields when someone joins via paid subscriptions it would be most useful as at present I have no means of gathering this extra information.

What about using advanced profile fields? You can set your own there.

Yep, did that. While that makes it possible for members to fill in their details (and I have posted a sticky topic to try and encourage them to!) It doesn't enforce it when they pay to join the club which makes maintaining their membership details tricky

Well, it *won't* be in 2.0. I'm really not sure it'll be in 2.1.

The best thing I can suggest is moving this post to Mod Requests and hope someone is interested in writing it for you.

I've been told that customisable fields within paid subscriptions won't be added in v2 of SMF. Am I the only one that would find this invaluable?

If I understand you correctly, you would like to use advanced profile fields on the registration page, *and* make them reqired for the registration?

Make them required for the paid subscription, not just registration.

Well, it makes a lot of sense to me that custom profile fields could be set as required during registration in general. I was just qurious about that.

It's just paid subscription signup they're not available for.

Hi all, just thought I'd drag this back up from the depths. Is there any chance of this being implemented yet? Is it a difficult mod to code? ie could I do it myself with limited coding knowledge?
