I know how to remove this I have set it correct on the default curve and core theme, but for some reason it's not going away when I set registrations to disabled on the Anecdota theme.

I just want 1 login area to show.

That's because that is where the userinfo is. In most themes the userinfo isn't tied to that setting in SMF. You'll need to remove the code from the index.templat.php file if you don't want that visible. Attach your index.template.php file if you can't figure it out.

Here you go m8...thanks for the help

I think this will remove it. I commented it out /* stuff */ if you ever want it back in there. Let us know how it turns out.

That worked just fine m8 cheers.

If I ever wanted to get rid of the search from that area too what would be needed to be removed?

mashby

Just move line 199 down to 218 (after </div>'; ).

How do I know which is the line number m8 when I'm viewing this in notepad?

Thanks

mashby

Simple. Use Notepad++ which has line numbers. Notepad doesn't, m8.

Hi m8 I tried this via my local 1st which seemed ok I just removed the searcharea with firebug.

Though when I tried it on my forum having removed it from the index.css the search bar moved from the right hand side to the upper top left??

I have attached my index.css can you have a look for me please.

Thanks Lord Alibaski

Removed the topic solved from this one because I still need a little help with the above.

Thanks

No m8 that didn't work it did exactly the same as when I tried it.

I think the problem lies in the index.css thats why I uploaded it m8.

OK, I guess moving that */ wasn't the best idea after all. No need to really do anything with the css (although display: none would have worked), instead I simply removed the searcharea div.

That one worked brilliant m8 thank you very much.

Don't know what I did wrong but when I tried it it moved the search to the top left hand corner!!!

This can use for any template?

IchBin™

It is for the anecdota theme. You could try it, but it may not work. Just make a backup file before you make any changes.
