Apart from the new theme which rewrites just about every single .template.php file, there are NUMEROUS other changes in the code.

I would suggest you look at the mod site in the coming days; many of the mods you have probably already have a RC1.2 version handy and will likely get an RC2 version soon enough.

but my problem is most of my mods i installed by hand so i don't know what i have installed
If you don't want to loose them, then you should not update to 2.0. From 1.1.10, 2.0 has numerous changes. Here are some, better internal code, a lot of optimizations, warning system, paid subscriptions, a whole new default theme called Curve, custom profile fields, better spam protection, an overall better admin center, plus a lot of minor improvements.

Oh, yeah, I have just remembered. Do we Charters need to anything? There is no change between the Charters' release and public right?
Thanks,
Any answer about this friends?
Thanks,
2.0 RC2 charter and public have some differences, I recommend upgrading.

There is a large number of changes from the charter version to the public version mainly bug fixes. You would need to upgrade to the latest version.

Would CM's who are running RC2 Charter still need the large upgrade, or can we get away with using the smaller package?

Updating from RC1.2 to RC2 is as king kratos states, you upload the large upgrade package over the top of the older files.
he says small upgrade package and you say large upgrade package lol
It is supposed to be large upgrade package, this release has a lot of changes to be valid for small update package.

Quote from: steve51184 on November 08, 2009, 11:16:16 PM
so how would someone (with lots of mods) update 1.1.10 to this?
The large upgrade package will remove all your mods, although if you want to re-install them make sure they are 2.0 RC2(Not even some RC 1.2 mods work with RC 2) compatible or they have a 2.0 RC 2 version somewhere.
i am already on 2.0 RC2,that is why i asked for help on the upgrade of the small or big package. Was just wondering which to use :)

I apologize everyone! I meant to say the large package and said the small one instead. This just goes to teach me that I need to read my posts before submitting them.

how come in the upgrade i don't have the curve theme but in the update file it is in there

C:\Users\Matthew\Desktop\smf_2-0-rc2_update<-------curve is in there
C:\Users\Matthew\Desktop\smf_2-0-rc1-2_upgrade<-------curve isn't in there

so i was told to use the upgrade but not the update

smf_2-0-rc1-2_upgrade<-------curve isn't in there

Because one of those is RC1.2, which isn't RC2?
