Notification of New Posted Topics

My forum is new and not extremely busy. Is it possible to turn on a notification that tells me someone has posted in the forum?

When you're on the list of threads in a board, select Notify. This will notify you of new threads in that board.

Is it possible to turn on a notification by default for all user?

No, I don't believe it is, and in any case it would likely irritate them more by having potentially dozens of emails (or more) - there's one forum where I had this set up by default and had to request it be turned off when I started getting 75-100 emails each day.

It would not be a good default option.
