When i push the send button then he gives this URL
http://www.hnhf.nl/forum/index.php?action=post2  and i get the error  PAGE NOT FOUND .

When i place a message in a new topic ( after upgrading ) he gives this URL
http://www.hnhf.nl/forum/index.php?topic=16101.0
When i push the send button then he gives this URL
http://www.hnhf.nl/forum/index.php?topic=16101.new#new

Problem 2.

and i push the register button  he gives this URL

For both issues: do you get the same on the default theme? Please switch to 'SMF Default theme - Curve', since Curve is the default theme since SMF 2.0 RC2, and see if you can post or register normally.

It sounds like a problem with missing files, perhaps from the RC2 package, perhaps from a theme. Please note that you can't use easily pre-RC2 themes with RC2, it may be safer to use one of the themes Curve or Core that come with RC2, and find out if your eventual custom themes, if you were using any, are updated for RC2.

It may be useful to try re-uploading all files from the RC2 upgrade package, in case your FTP client may have missed some before.

Hi Norv,

I have tried it white the curve theme but the result was the same.
I have also removed the complete Theme dir and source dir and uploaded it again.

But i tried it again, then i send the upgrade.php also and do it again.

Try reuploading all files from the upgrade package. If you still get the same result, it may be a good idea to find the web server error log, to see what exactly does fail to find. Normally, the web server error log should be in your host's panel in a section about logs or error log, or in your FTP directory.

action=post2   this is the problem.
action=register2  also the problem    when i remove it from the url, then the forum returns.

I have send a files again, run the upgrade again but whit no results.

The error log on de control panel is clean.

I am trying to tell you that FTP clients sometimes drop files and it may not be always obvious they did, it seems they succeeded uploading them all, when in reality perhaps they did not.
That is why I recommend to try re-uploading them, meaning uploading them again, even though you did it once.

If the result is the same, as said, find the web server log and post the errors in it here. The web server log, not the forum log, not the error message as displayed on page.
If you cannot find your web server log, ask your host about it.

ETA: ah you edited your post. Still, about the error log empty: can you please check if error logging is enabled? On some hosts, you need to enable it, first, then it will start logging errors.
To-do lists are for deferral. The more things you write down the later they're done... until you have 100s of lists of things you don't do.

Can you please make sure you empty the error log, then go again to post, and get the 'not found' error, then come back to see what errors are logged?

If anything else fails, perhaps it would also be an idea to try using repair_settings.php on your forum: check all paths, and if any doesn't seem appropriate for your installation, then please correct it. (What is repair_settings.php?)

Hi,

I have one question.   When i make a new Topic, and i writing something in it serveral times then everythings worsk fine. Nothing goes wrong then.

How do you explane that?
Groetjes Martin....

Norv

Not sure, but it's useful to know. SMF isn't doing the exact same things though.
Do you have the latest language pack too? Might be worth checking, and making sure some files from it aren't missing by any chance.

Could you please tell what browser you are using and if you could try with a different browser?

How about another user, does someone else have the same problems?

What is the text you were trying to post? Anything?

Your forum is  http://www.hnhf.nl I suppose. Then please note that your pages on the theme you are using have javascript and css errors, for example the registration page :

You may find useful to contact the theme author to see if your theme is compatible with RC2 or they have an updated version.
Please if possible, switch to Curve until we solve this issue, as otherwise it's hard to see what is relevant and what is not among all errors.

On a side note, I am marking the topic as unsolved, it seems that for some reason it was marked as solved. That is not a good idea, to mark a topic as solved, as long as it is not solved, because only unsolved support topics appear in the list most members of the Support team and helpers use to find topics that may still need assistance, otherwise it may even remain unread.
To-do lists are for deferral. The more things you write down the later they're done... until you have 100s of lists of things you don't do.

All files from the RC2 upgrade package should be uploaded and replace your files. Then, upgrade.php from the forum directory should be run from the browser. Note that mods will be overwritten and anyway mods and themes will most likely not be compatible, as this is a significant upgrade.
Please check out for more information: Upgrading SMF

You may find useful to contact the theme author to see if your theme is compatible with RC2 or they have an updated version.

Perfectly done and everything seems to be working fine.

All mods needed to be reinstalled.
