Login Won't Accept

I had this working an hour ago. I try to log into the bridge via mambo smf login module and it just goes to a page in mambo saying You are not authorized to view this resource. You need to login.

I can get to the smf forum via a direct link (which I don't want to do as I am trying to make the forum accessible only through mambo).

this likely means that you have the "forum" link set to only registered users.   The forum component in the main menu MUST be available to  the public. Even if the menu itme is unpublished....

(note: If you have an unpublished public forum item, the PUBLISHED, (but registered) item should be set up using a link - URL...  NOT another component!!!) (which would assign another itemID to the forum)
