Moving Site

Hello I am in the process of moving my site to a new server.. and what I am wondering is when i copy all the files to my computer that are on the server I am using at this time,  If when I find another server to host my site on... Will the forum once i load it to the new server be in tact?  with all the posts ..etc  that are already on it?

I would hate to lose all the Posts on the forum...
