I am having some serious problems as of late and it is really starting to wear me down on maintenance!

I am now having problems with the Verification Image on registration not showing.

Also, now most mods I try to Install end up looking like the image below.  The code is showing up at the top of the forum.

Man this is getting really frustrating.  Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks,

Robert

Is htis going to affect any of my mods?  Will I need to reinstall them?  How about the Modications.english file?

Thanks,

RGecy

Croco

you can keep a backed version of Modications.english.php if needed.

As for other mods, if they modify a standard language files then it might be affected.

You can keep a backed version of the files and replace them and see if any mod is missing any language strings.

The only effect will be empty string instead of the expected string.

I have been having so many problems as of late and I have upgraded over time, unistalled, installed mods, manual edits, ect!  I am getting all sorts of errors.

How hard would it be to just start over from scratch?

I mean, I dont want to lose any data, but as of late it has just been one thing after another, and I have to feel that it has to do with some of the mods not unistalling/installing  properly.

What would you do or recommend?

Thanks,

RGecy

you won't lose any data as all data are stored in MYSQL database. You can start a fresh installation of SMF and start installing the mods again from scratch and you shouldn't lose any data.

OK, I have backed everything up to a different folder, and I just want to delete everything in my "Forums" directory.

I have lots of files that are from old mods, or old backups of the files and want to get rid of everything not necessary.  I must have 20 theme folders of themes that are not being used.

Should I do this?  Or should I just do complete install over the existing files?

I really want to start over and get rid of all these conflicts and errors I am having.  Any suggestions.

Thanks,

Robert

If you don't need any old mods and you want to start a fresh start delete everything and keep the attachments and avatar folders and Setting.php file.

Or you can just use a large upgrade package and replace the old files and you can delete the extra files that are not replaced.

Remember to keep a copy of Settings.php and Settings_bak.php
