Error in convert phpbb2 to smf, cannot access phpbb??

  Hi everybody.  I would appreciate your help.  SMF 1.0.3  When I tri to convert from phpbb to smf this error ocurre:

"Sorry, the database connection information used in the specified installation of SMF cannot access the installation of phpBB2. This may either mean that the installation doesn't exist, or that the MySQL account used does not have permissions to access it."

What does this means? How can I give the permissions, 'cause obviously the installation of phpbb exists...

Sorry. I'm reading the guide to convert.  I think I know where a I made my mistake...  I'll try to install SMF again to use the same database...  I'll talk to you later if I have an error, but I don't think so... Thanxs again...

SMF forum installed and working... Everything looks good (members, posts).  I'm gonna test it this days, hope all ok.  For all the newbies like me: When you install SMF software be aware to use the same DB like phpbb2 (DBname, DBuser and DB password), but differente prefix.   En español: Cuando instales SMF hay que darle los mismos parametros que usaste en phpbb2, o sea, el mismo nombre de la base de datos, el mismo nombre de usuario de la base de datos y el mismo password de la BD.  Ojo-> El prefijo si sera smf_ porque si le dejas el mismo d ephpbb2 te cargaras la BD.  ¡Ah! Leete primero la guia esta muy facil.  Saludines.
