Hi,
after upgrading from version 1.1.11 to 2.0 RC2 a blank screen in the browser
appears while clicking on 'attachments'. IE and Fox while click on
attachment-link underneath the fotograph you see the picture.

2 other forums on the same server work fine without any problems.

Here is a link to some attachments.

Here are the error messages:

The problem occures only in 4 forums.

Here is the server data:

;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;
; Resource Limits ;
;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;

max_execution_time = 30     ; Maximum execution time of each script, in
seconds
max_input_time = 60 ; Maximum amount of time each script may spend
parsing request data
;max_input_nesting_level = 64 ; Maximum input variable nesting level
memory_limit = 128M      ; Maximum amount of memory a script may consume
(128MB)

What might be the problem?

Hi, to me the errors appear to be with the portal you are using. I don't know if that's the problem but they should be fixed first.

Was the portal uninstalled and then the proper version for 2.0 RC2 installed again

If at first you don't succeed, use a bigger hammer. If that fails, read the manual.

#3
Portal is SimplePortal 2.3.1 new Version for 1.1.11 and 2.0 RC2

Before upgrading, a new SMF 1.1.11 with SimplePortal 2.3.1 (fits for 2.0 RC2 too) was installed without error message. After that the upgrade to 2.0 RC2 was made. After the upgrade the portal was installed in 2.0 RC2 through "execute modification"

Kays

Can you post those errors in the support topic/site for Simple Portal and see if they are able to help you with those?

Is that tjhe reason for the attachmeents?

Forcing the theme to load even for attachments should fix this issue.

Try the edit below:

("Find (index.php)") [Select]
// Attachments don't require the entire theme to be loaded.
if (isset($_REQUEST['action']) && $_REQUEST['action'] == 'dlattach' && (!empty($modSettings['allow_guestAccess']) && $user_info['is_guest'])) detectBrowser(); // Load the current theme.  (note that ?theme=1 will also work, may be used for guest theming.) else loadTheme();

[Select]
// Attachments don't require the entire theme to be loaded.
*if (isset($_REQUEST['action']) && $_REQUEST['action'] == 'dlattach' && (!empty($modSettings['allow_guestAccess']) && $user_info['is_guest'])) detectBrowser(); // Load the current theme.  (note that ?theme=1 will also work, may be used for guest theming.) else*/ loadTheme();

If you are not using the deault theme, switch to it and see if the problem is still there.

Most of your errors are undefined index. Which is usually missing laguage strings.but your errors look odd. Unless you altered them when editing.

Undefined index:right_to_leftDatei: xxxxxxx/Sources/Subs-Portal.php

right_to_leftDatei: should be right_left

That's why I'm suggesting going to SP for support on this. It's best to clear these errors up first before looking at an attachment problem.

ok I have it posted at SimplePortal Support
Thanks

Kays

Good. Let us know how that goes.

If you still have attachment problems we can get back to that then.

What's the translation on that error?

It doesn't look the same as what you posted earlier.

There, too, go to the upgrade to 2.0 RC2, the attachment does not. There comes a white page.

When upgrading, there was no error message.

Kays

But what does the error say? My German is not too good.

my english is a Katastrope ;D

"index.php from blitzfahrer.de could not be downloaded.

The website could not be opened. It is either unavailable or could not be found. Please try again later "

This comes in five SMF 2.0 RC2 after upgrading from 1.1.11

The error occurs in IE

Kays

Any errors in the error log when that happens? Also check your site error log.

Have you got a link to your site?

No error in the error log file of the website

The only thing I can see right now is this code in the head of the page. It needs to be after <body>. That's in Index.template.php.

<div align="center">
<TR>

    <TD
      vAlign=bottom align=left width="69%"><A
      title="Opel Blitzfahrer Galerie"
      href="http://www.blitzfahrer.de/galerie/" target=_blank>Zur Galerie</A> |
      <A
      title="Opel Blitzfahrer Usermap."
      href="http://www.blitzfahrer.de/usermap/" target=_blank>Usermap</A> |
  <A
      title="Opel Blitzfahrer Chat."
      href="http://blitzforum.com/" target=_blank>Bedford Forum</A> |
  <A

      href="http://opel-blitz.eu/" target=_blank>Dutch Opel Blitz Forum</A>
      <tbody>
  </div>

I can see all of the attachments on that page in IE8. Try Ctrl + F5 to refresh the page.

Also that code which isn't suppose to be a the begining of the (html) page is still there. It needs to be after <body>

If at first you don't succeed, use a bigger hammer. If that fails, read the manual.

The code is now in <body>  :)

I see the attachments on the website, still comes Clicking on the white page. Try Ctrl + F5 to refresh the page makes no changes
