I know alot more people are looking to start there own server and run a forum like SMF so I am just handing out a free way to do it.  This is what I am doing and have been for a month and have had 0 downtime.

XAMPP is a free AIO.  XAMPP is an easy to install Apache distribution containing MySQL, PHP and Perl. and much more.  Just go here as I will take all the info off there site lol.  hxxp:www.apachefriends.org/en/xampp.html [nonactive].

No-IP™ is a leading managed DNS service provider. We offer a wide range of services pertaining to your internet presence, from managing DNS to getting around ISPs who block port 25. All of our services take advantage of our global network of redundant DNS and mail servers ensuring 100% uptime.  I Just use the Free one for now as I was still learning.   hxxp:www.no-ip.com/ [nonactive]

Ya see this was a perfect solution for me as I have verizon DSL and the block port 80 and so i use the port 80 redirect to get my server running, so other people could use my forum.

So if your just starting out and waht a free way to get SMF up and running, or just a server for that matter than I hope this is good info for you.  I also hope I posted this in the right place.

I have read alot of threads about this easyphp.  This in my opinion is even easier to test your php pages and scripts and so on.
