Hello,

I have the following problem:

I installed some mod already, then uninstall. Then again, installed and uninstalled.

Now I have the problem that I can no longer install mod.
No matter what the mod, it does not work.

I can install the mod, but it does not work, does not appear.

Can someone help me?

have SMF2.0 RC2

Norv

What mod is it? Can you install other mods?
Are there errors when you try to install? Are there errors in the forum error log?
To-do lists are for deferral. The more things you write down the later they're done... until you have 100s of lists of things you don't do.

but if you uninstall the mod you see everything red, so the errors

Norv

Please check Admin > Forum maintenance > Error log, what errors does your forum have there?

ONLY if I want to add new mod is no-longer
mod is installed without any problems

Then the mod does not

if I uninstall the mod,
were then he shows me some of the errors in the installation as "ok, see

edit:
someone from the smf portal told me it may be because because I have too often one and the same mod installed and uninstalled.
something has shifted

Norv

I sure have installed and uninstalled dozens of times and mods, I can tell it doesn't happen just like that...

However, what else does it say, besides "Undefiniert", in the forum error log?

I CANCELLED (unistall) THIS MOD??? BEFORE 1 WEEK??? Why he is Active?
Maybe this is the Problem?

Norv

The last few errors, may be enough.

Or, empty all errors. Then, try to install a mod. Then, check again Admin > forum maintenance > error log, and see what errors appeared (if any). Post them all here. (copy paste of the list or screenshot)

Can the 'unable to load Ads.german-utf8' language file.

How can this be?
I have uninstalled this mod more than 1 weeks?

Norv

Can you please attach here the file Ads.german-utf8, if there is any file with this name?

Did you by any chance change the language of the forum from German (or something else) to German-utf8 lately? Or, did you convert to utf8 lately?

Thorstenxxxx

yes, I have installed utf-8 englich and German because I had forgotten it in the forum installation

Norv

Then I suspect that is why the mod doesn't work now: it needs all the code from Ads.English.php file copied into a file Ads.German-utf8.php.
Simply copy the file Ads.English.php or Ads.English-utf8.php, or Ads.German.php, whichever you find, (you might find it in /Themes/default/languages), and rename the copy as Ads.german-utf8.php.

EDIT:
SMF needs to find now Ads.german-utf8.php.

I understand not at this error message, this mod was uninstalled I do, they do not want is gone. But why do they even make 7 error?

I think they do not understand me correctly.
the ad managment mod I do not care that I just noticed that the errors they make when I should have told me to delete all the errors.

Well, it wasn't. The 7 errors are because of this mod. It wasn't fully uninstalled.

Does it appear as uninstalled in Admin > Packages?

In the mod's page, if you click "parse", you see all modifications the mod does. (http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=255)
There, down the page, there is:
Quote
File Operations
Move the included file "Ads.php" to "./Sources".
Move the included file "LoadAds.php" to "./Sources".
Move the included file "Ads.template.php" to "./Themes/default".
Move the included file "Ads.english.php" to "./Themes/default/languages".
Move the included file "Ads.english-utf8.php" to "./Themes/default/languages".

This is part of the mod.
For the mod to work, it needs Ads.[language_of_the_forum].php in ./Themes/default/languages.
The installer of the mod does that automatically for Ads.english.php and Ads.english-utf8.php.
If the language of the forum is german-utf8, then Ads.german-utf8.php has to be created and moved to ./Themes/default/languages.

I have now added a new discussion on admin menu
Now is not a mod anymore, all are gone

The mod is still all there, also work
but no longer in the settings admin menu

Norv

If you look at the mod's page, and click "parse": you can see all modifications it does to your files. You could verify your files, to see if they are still modified, and remove the code manually.
After all code is removed, there should be no errors anymore.
