As an Admin, I can go in and create membergroups.

But when I click on View All Members, there is a column called "Position" that appears to list membergroups in it.  What exactly is a "Position"?

Arantor

Position is the name of the member group they are in.

For example, on this site, my primary membergroup is 'SMF Friend' and I would appear on the memberlist with that as my position. For you, it would likely be Administrator, or whatever the name of your Administrator primary group is.

Failing that, i.e. for those not in a primary group, it would be the name of their post count group.

Here, for example, you have 'Newbie' under your name - you're not in any of the team groups, thus you only have a post count group, and Newbie is the group for 0-9 posts here.
