Backlinks

I've been posting my link all over youtube and on some pages but my backlinks are only 17 and they're all from this site? Shouldn't I get 1 backlink for each comment since it's in my signature? Or do I have to manually post the url. Same for my other forum I'm on.

Doesn't work that way really. You need links from quality sites to actually matter.
Most sites add nofollow to the signatures and outside links so they don't have any seo value.

Oh i see. Thanks. Cuz I was looking at other sites and they have thousands of backlinks..

It takes time to build up backlinks, try finding music related sites and exchange links with them or find music directories to submit your website too.

I strongly, strongly suggest you get one of the Firefox NoDoFollow or SEO mods for that sort of thing. You'll notice alot of the links on YouTube are marked for the Search Engines not to follow. I suspect many of your other 'backlinks' are in a similar situation.

This will make the backlinks count? I use firefox already, so thats good, is it like a plugin?

They will not make the back links count. Nothing can do that. They will tell you whether a back link is worth anything SEO wise.

The more linkbacks you have, the better.

To post you site, just sign up and make a post in the directory board. Your post must follow the guide posted in the global announcement.

Yes, but you can find that very easy and, i guess, the link value is better than those coming from directories. And reading/commenting blogs may be fun too.

Directories are good if they are well moderated.
