oh sry, i put domain... but same error:

Fatal error: Cannot use string offset as an array in /home/xxxxxxxx/domains/tabascog.com/public_html/foro/Sources/FB_Connect/FB_Connect_Subs.php  on line 283
We are aware of this issue. It look like FB had changed their API, once we found a solution we update the mod, in the meantime disable FB Connect for a while. Hang in there.

atleast thats the error i had when i had it so i disabled it. just been waiting.

Seems to be working fine for me

whats the version of ur forum?

I tried to set the connect URL to: http://thepitstopforum.net and this is the error I'm getting from facebook:

Validation failed.

Connect URL must point to a directory (i.e., end with a "/") or a dynamic page (i.e., have a "?" somewhere).

Gah was hoping I wouldn't have another problem.

Now when I click the "Integrate forum account with Facebook." link it takes me to a URL that looks like this:
http://www.thepitstopforum.net/?session={%22session_key%22%3A%222.zPAddWpPLUCgbl8PdoUHFw__.3600.1271635200-1804929572%22%2C%22uid%22%3A1804929572%2C%22expires%22%3A1271635200%2C%22secret%22%3A%22zPAddWpPLUCgbl8PdoUHFw__%22%2C%22sig%22%3A%22080f78fc26826ee05ce33fc6a357cb7a%22}&next=http%3A%2F%2Fthepitstopforum.net%2Ffbc%2Fxd_receiver.htm%3Ffb_login%26fname%3D_opener%26guid%3D0.41137675013086794

I am then logged out, so I try to click the "Connect with facebook" image and I get this:
Request for Special PermissionsThe Facebook Connect cross-domain receiver URL (http://thepitstopforum.net/fbc/xd_receiver.htm)   must have the application's Connect URL (http://www.thepitstopforum.net/)   as a prefix.  You can configure the Connect URL in the Application   Settings Editor.

wow!!! great job!

one question though - when a new member connects and asked to provide a user-name, if he or she uses utf8 characters in the user-name, it passes on as EMPTY.

if you could just point me to the problematic part of the code, i'll be happy to find and share a utf8-friendly solution.

thanks!

I did use the one for smf2 and I still get the error message not to install. I will try again but the first time I ignored the error warning it crashed the whole site and I had to remove it and I would really like to get this to work. There are 2 zip files and I don't know which one is the correct one for my forum. I am running 2.0RC3.

Ok tried it again and used zip file SA_FBConnect_0.2_smf11x.zip and tried to install and got this message

The package you are trying to download or install is either corrupt or not compatible with this version of SMF.

I used other zip file and I think I got it working.

I just had to uninstall this mod it totally crashes everything and removes all stylesheet formatting. Onlyskin theme seems to work with is the smf default skin theme. I tried it on every skin other than that one and it crashed my whole forum and I couldnt even use the forum until I uninstalled the face book connect.

here is the error I got on every single skin theme when I tried to use them. by the way I don't want to remove my portal blocks to use this.

Fatal error: Call to undefined function show_facebook() in /home/justkind/public_html/Sources/PortalBlocks.php  on line 225

it is cos you need todo some custom edits for your theme

if you add this

Code: [Select]
function show_facebook()
{
    global $settings, $user_info, $context, $txt, $modSettings;

    if ($context['user']['is_logged'] && !empty($modSettings['fb_enable']))
    {
        if (!empty($user_info['fbname']))
            echo '<img src="' . $settings['images_url'] . '/facebook.png" alt="'.$txt['fb_title'].'" /> <a href="#" onclick="javascript:fbLogincheck(); return false;">'.$txt['fb_title'].'</a>';
        else
            echo ' <img src="' . $settings['images_url'] . '/facebook.png" alt="'.$txt['fb_title'].'" /> <a href="#" onclick="javascript:fbLoginsync(); return false;">'.$txt['fb_integrate'].'</a>';

        echo'<br /><br />';
    }
    elseif (!empty($modSettings['fb_enable']))
        echo'<a href="#" onclick="javascript:fbLogin(); return false;"><img src="http://b.static.ak.fbcdn.net/rsrc.php/zB6N8/hash/4li2k73z.gif" alt="" /></a>';
}

before // The main sub template above the content.

the error will go away
