Hello All,

I am having some challenges with my website meta tag descriptions. I observed this lately on facebook. Whenever I posted a link, it show only my url instead of showing title and brief description:

For example:
when I posted: http://www.infostridesforum.com
it shows: www.infostridesforum.com
                 http://www.infostridesforum.com/index.php

Instead of showing:

brief description

I have tried to figure out what happened by uninstalling all mods, clear chache,  and empty log files but all the same.

I even tried to re-install the forum, but immmediately after I restored my database, the problem occur again.

Please help me.

Kays

Hi, in looking at your forum the meta tag description is in place. Which is where I'm assuming that Facebook is getting that data from.

If at first you don't succeed, use a bigger hammer. If that fails, read the manual.

Facebook is a bit odd at times when it comes to posting links and such. I've seen it do that with other sites before as well, so I don't think it's a problem with your site.

Thank you for your response.

I don't know what actually went wrong. Any time, I post a link, it doesnt show the title and description. I am confused. It was not like that before.

Before what, or when?

Where there any change made at that time which could of affected it?

That was why I said "I am confused". It was not like that last week. I can't figure out what could have caused it. But I know, it may error somewhere somehow!

Your page looks normal to me and if you hadn't made any changes then the problem is probably on Facebook's end as Oldiesmann suggested.

Thank you for your prompt response.

It seems e-floating bar mod is causing me the problem. I discovered that when disabled, meta tags works fine but when enabled, it works otherwise.

Note that the eFloating bar mod isn't compatible with 2.0 RC2, so that could definitely be causing problems.
